September 2024 Funding Report

We are proud to announce the outcomes of our September funding round, which resulted in a total £2.2million in grants being given to over 20 charitable organisations, supporting projects involving ex-offenders, homelessness, and victims of modern slavery.

The Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting charities serving disadvantaged/ in-need communities in England and Wales, the Isle of Man, and the Republic of Ireland, ensuring that valuable projects are provided with funding to maintain their meaningful work.

Though our General Fund remains closed to applications, we remain open to applications from registered Roman Catholic charities or registered charities associated with Roman Catholic Dioceses.

Here are two examples of charities that received grants from us in this quarterly funding round…

Out There Supporting Families of Prisoners provides emotional and practical support, as well as information, for families of prisoners in Greater Manchester.

Their service is based in Old Trafford and is able to interlink with other Greater Manchester charities to support the families of individuals who have received prison sentences. Their work helps people during major upheaval in their lives, stigma, need to change schools and the resulting health, wellbeing and poverty issues.

Out There Supporting Families of Prisoners has received funding from The Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation previously in 2021, and we are proud to announce our renewed support of their service with a grant of £91,628 towards a further two years of their operation.

Out There Supporting Families of Prisoners

For 52 years The Good Shepherd has been supporting people in Wolverhampton who are furthest from the job market.

They are able to provide more in-depth tailored support than mainstream employment services which are not suitable for the people they support, creating pathways out of poverty and helping people to obtain accommodation, move towards employment, access training or education, and develop the skills to build self-reliance. Their support extends to people who are homeless, ex-offenders, those experiencing addiction, and individuals struggling with mental health issues.

The Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation is happy to announce a grant of £50,000 to support the work of Good Shepherd Services.
