The Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation supports Rotunda

Rotunda is a charity based in Liverpool whose mission is to affect change through social regeneration and to raise the aspirations and confidence of service users. Their name represents their core values of Respect, Opportunity, Trust, Understanding, Non-judgment, Diversity, and being Always Positive.

They have developed a Community College which provides flexible, accessible, inclusive adult learning and career progression courses, alongside which they run a mentoring programme in order to assess and address the needs of their service users. Many of the people accessing their courses acquire real work-experience via volunteering opportunities in their Garden Cafe Bistro, growing area, or Nursery – the last of which makes use of Rotunda’s fantastic outdoor spaces and incorporates a forest school area to create a holistic learning environment.

A grant from AGCF will support Rotunda’s development of accommodation for women fleeing domestic violence, or struggling with homelessness.

This project will see the redevelopment of an end-terrace Georgian house, transforming it into six individual flats for women, and in some cases their children, each of which will have kitchen and laundry facilities, as well as a communal area in the basement. During their occupancy the residents will engage in Rotunda’s educational and vocational programmes and be provided with counselling, welfare, financial, and legal support, and subsequently helped to move on within 6-12 months.

AGCF is proud to award a grant of £300,000 in support of Rotunda’s project to provide supported accommodation for women fleeing domestic violence, or struggling with homelessness.
