Supporting Mustard Tree
30 November 2023
Mustard Tree works within Greater Manchester to provide support to those in crisis in our community. With bases in Eccles, Ancoats, and Little Hulton, Mustard Tree centres include food banks and Community Shops providing used homeware and clothing, where products are offered at discounts affordable to those individuals in the greatest need.
Emphasising dignity, Mustard Tree centres focus on the value which each individual can bring to the community; built upon a culture of kindness, they support each person to become a connected and contributing member of society. Creativity classes and adult education programmes are also delivered at Mustard Tree centres to improve people’s opportunities and encourage self-belief.
Between 2022 and 2023, Mustard Tree supported 5,703 families with their food banks; provided 1:1 financial and housing support to 2,240 individuals; and their Freedom project, involving skills and workplace coaching, supported 266 individuals.
Mustard Tree has received £137,500 in grants from AGCF since 2021, supporting their Freedom Project and refurbishments to their Little Hulton base, as well as the vital work they do to provide support to the people of Manchester and Salford – tackling the causes as well as the consequences of homelessness.
