The Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation is delighted to announce grants awarded in a recent round of funding, including Coffee4Craig’s ‘Recovery and Relief’ project, helping street homeless in Manchester.
Based across the road from Strangeways Prison, Coffee4Craig is the only frontline Manchester homelessness charity to operate into the evening, providing users with a consistent presence, tailored support, and the necessary tools to put a stop to the cycle of homelessness.
They work to reassure users and act as advocates for those seeking employment. Their drop-in centre provides access to a medic, a shower, a barber, home-cooked meals, hot coffee, and a relaxed environment for the homeless people of Manchester – who queue up well before the front door opens at 6pm.
Coffee4Craig is an organisation with a fantastic ethos of equality, offering its users “a hand up, not a hand-out”. Spray-painted onto their building is the motto ‘Never look down on somebody, unless you’re handing them a coffee’.
The Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation is proud to support Coffee4Craig with £30,000.
